Privacy Policy

Context Triage is built to be private by design. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.

The short version

Context Triage does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. Everything the extension does happens locally, inside your own browser. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics.

What the extension stores

To do its job, Context Triage saves the following on your device only, using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local:

• Your topic preferences — the keywords and weights you add (or auto-detect).
• Source trust scores — a per-source number that adapts based on the Keep, Dismiss, and Hide actions you take.
• Post scores — the computed score for posts you've viewed, plus a short snippet of post text used to display them in the extension popup.
• Your allow/block lists — domains you've chosen to always or never surface.

This data never leaves your browser. It is not sent to us or to any third party, because there is no server to send it to.

What the extension reads

On the supported sites — X (x.com / twitter.com) and Reddit (reddit.com) — Context Triage reads the text of posts in your feed so it can score them and show a badge. This reading happens in real time, on your device, and the content is used only to compute a score. It is not logged, uploaded, or retained beyond the local scores described above.

Context Triage does not read pages on any other website.

What the extension does NOT do

• It does not collect personal or identifying information.
• It does not track your browsing history.
• It does not use cookies or fingerprinting.
• It does not send network requests to external servers.
• It does not include third-party analytics or advertising code.
• It does not sell or share data with anyone.

Permissions

• storage — to save your settings and scores locally (see above).
• activeTab and host access to the supported feed sites — to read post text and display score badges on those sites only.

Your control over your data

All data lives in your browser. You can erase it at any time:

• Use Clear all data in the extension popup, or
• Remove the extension from chrome://extensions, which deletes its local storage.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the "Last updated" date above will change and the revised policy will be published at the same location. Material changes will be noted in the extension's release notes.
